MEET THE OWNERS

THE BEACH

I am Patti Mitchell.  My husband, Billy and I retired from Christian ministry and were drawn by the laid back vibe of Mexico Beach.  Billy's dream was to build a beach house and live on the beach to enjoy his retirement.  And that's what we did.  We love our home, Sea Oats n Sand and have enjoyed living here.  Billy enjoyed his retirement and I established a medical practice as a nurse practitioner at Options Health Family Practice.  Sadly, Billy passed away after a tragic accident and I have decided it's time to let visitors to Mexico Beach delight in the same relaxing beach experience that we have enjoyed for several years as guests in our beautiful Sea Oats n Sand.  I still live locally...just down the road in Saint Joe Beach, so am within easy reach if any unforeseen need arises.

I have furnished and equiped our vacation home with my guests' comfort in mind.  I want everyone who visits Sea Oats n Sand to experience a physical renweal and a spiriutal awakening as they enjoy the beauty of sand, sea and sky.  My wish is that after your time here, you will leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.  I want to provide my guests an oasis of peace and calm to return home to after your day.  Relax in the sun, explore the multi-colored shops, eat at one of our quaint food trucks or restaurants, or venture to Apalachicola or Port Saint Joe.

The gardens and patio area of Sea Oats n Sand are intended to provide an outdoor living space for gathering with your family and friends.  Lush grass, beautiful tropical flowers and bushes surround the patio area where you'll find picnic tables and comfortable benches.  Party lights add a touch of romance.  It is the perfect spot for a shrimp boil, or to grill a steak or hamburger.

I know you will love Sea Oats n Sand as much as I do!

The beaches at Mexico Beach are of pristine, sugary white sand along the warm Gulf of Mexico.  Miles of "easy to walk" flat beaches are available for your outdoor enjoyment.  The emerald water invites you to take a dip to cool off from the warm summer sun; or, set up your umbrella and gaze over its shimmery surface to catch a glimpse of the dolphins that are always cavorting just off shore.

Building restrictions in Mexico Beach ensure there are no "high-rise" hotels or condominiums to mar its natural beauty.  Just west of the city limits is Tyndall AFB on which our guests can visit a secluded 6-mile stretch of beach that is a shell-seekers paradise.  No buildings or other signs of "civilization" encroach on this nature lover's utopia. A "recreational permit" is required when visiting the beach on Tyndall AFB property.  It is easy to acquire online at https://tyndall.isportsman.net

If you're searching for a quiet beach experience, Mexico Beach is the place for you.  It is the perfect vacation spot for families.  Many generations of families still continue to return year after year.  Hurricane Michael changed the look of Mexico Beach.  The houses are newer and brighter, but the "feel" of Mexico Beach has remained the same.
